While it may be tempting to throw caution to the wind while in a new location; Experts and our bodies say the most important thing is to keep up your regular eating, exercise and sleep schedule.
Drink Plenty of Cold, Clean Water Each Day
The Well Educated Staff at The Mayo Clinic still advocate water as the primary source of hydration along with high water content foods such as watermelon. Remember that you may be more likely grab a can of soda at the store while on the job, convention site or training class but it may dehydrate you further.
Eat A Healthy Balanced Diet Each Day
Healthy foods may be more expensive or difficult to find while traveling but these days most hoteliers have a convenient for vegetarian and other healthy options. Please be sure to call ahead of your business trip and check out the hotel menu. We believe the more you cook for yourself the more control you have over your food choices and consumption. This ties in with keeping your regular routine.
Sleep Well And Long
Harvard University sleep researchers recommend a minimum of 7-9 hours of sleep per night depending upon your age and other factors to maintain your mood, health and motivation during your regular routine and activities. This includes sleeping while on a busy traveling schedule because you are worth a bit of shuteye time.
Take Breaks During The Day
Remember to rest more often while traveling and working because this can seem like more than two full time jobs. By the time you are feeling tired you may already need a break!
Stay Socially Connected
If you feel lonely on your stint, maybe try giving a friend or family member a call. It is extremely uplifting to hear a familiar voice while away from home!
Most Importantly, Have Fun
