Painting With Patience

Or…

There ain’t no cure for the winter time blues

Some times in our relentless pursuit of perfection we lose sight of the beauty we behold in each moment.

A lot of people call us and ask if we can paint a room in one day?

We say, “Sure… if you want your room to look like it was painted in one day…”

Good Things Take Time:

The end result of a paint job often depends on how much time you let the paint dry. I know, I know… We are all tempted to tap the wall with our finger lightly and say, “It’s ready for a second coat!” But, is it really?

Many factors affect the drying time and staying power of your particular paint. Heat and humidity included.

It’s What We Didn’t Do

Preparation is key: Practicing a little patience at the beginning of a paint can make the whole process move along smoother and faster.

How?

Covering that couch is much easier than cleaning the paint off after a drop spills.

Sanding the surface, smoothens or roughens depending upon your specific needs. We treat every job as a “color change”. Which means sanding the surfaces to prepare for the adhesion of a quality primer and after that, two, yes, two coats of your favorite color.

You will be amazed at the look and feel and depth of color result in your new space.

Remember These Steps

After allowing the primer to dry completely. We allow 24 hours. The whole surface needs to sanded with a 220 grit paper to promote the adhesion of your first color layer. Now… Again… Don’t Touch! Nothing is going to make that paint dry except time…

Now for the second coat… Not yet!

Have you sanded again with 220 grit? Yes, the whole thing!

Now you are ready for the final coat and will not believe the coverage and flow of your favorite color!
