The Tambour Before Christmas

This tambour door needed to be replaced after one too many crash landings on the countertop. Luckily there is no shortage or cabinet parts at cabinet parts dot com! We ordered this beautiful hardwood slat tambour door and it was delivered to our doorstep in less than a week! Great job and thank you, Omega National Products!

This roll top cabinet door (Appliance Garage) rolled out of the box meeting all the specifications with the fine hardwood grain sanded smooth and ready to accept a professional, protective, polyurethane finish!

We used four thin coats of clear semi-gloss polyurethane to let the natural beauty of the Maple shine through.

After a fine (220 grit) sanding between each coat, we packed it and shipped it to Rye, NH, where we custom cut it to fit with only a CH to spare. Leaving plenty of room for comfortably storing that old toaster. (minus the crumbs)

The lovely owner of this lovely kitchen in Rye, NH did the hard work for us by using up the old tambour door until it could not take it anymore! She also went above and beyond by clearing the counter space and cabinets before we got there! Thank you again!

There is always a worry about a retrofit in an older home such as this but it worked out just fine! It is hard to believe the old school routed track still allowed the door to slide smoothly. Better than any antique rolltop desk. Shout out to the cabinet makers of yore for making this slick sliding door!
